Our Program

Learning never stops at Chatsworth Montessori. From 6 weeks through Kindergarten, concrete objects provide deep understanding of abstract principles. There is an integrated curriculum designed to parallel human development.

Children are recognized as individuals and their education is not restricted to lectures addressed to the whole class. They are given the freedom to explore and excel, the responsibility to learn and teach, and the opportunity to collaborate and serve-ensuring their development into educated, virtuous young adults.

Students explore, refine motor skills, increase language in a language rich environment, and move toward independence in a safe, warm, stable environment where the child acquires the skills to "do it myself".

Let us take the child out to show him real things instead of making objects which represent ideas and closing them up in cupboards. - Maria Montessori

Montessori Difference

Montessori emphasizes learning through all five senses, not just through listening, watching, or reading. Children in Montessori classes learn at their own, individual pace and according to their own choice of activities from hundreds of possibilities.

Montessori Kids Are More Prepared.

Research studies show that Montessori children are well prepared for later life academically, socially, and emotionally. In addition to scoring well on standardized tests, Montessori children are ranked above average on such criteria as following directions, turning in work on time, listening attentively, using basic skills, showing responsibility.
